Marc Marquez arrives at the Sepang International Circuit with high ambitions to maintain his front-running pace in the championship battle. Following a weather-disrupted weekend in Phillip Island, the multiple-time world champion immediately shifted his full focus toward tackling the extreme heat and humidity in Malaysia to close out the Asian tour.
Adverse weather conditions in Australia previously forced the cancellation of the main Sunday race after only holding the Sprint event. That weekend also saw title contender Jorge Martin sustain a right arm fracture, though the Spaniard is set to test his physical fitness during practice sessions in Sepang.
Addressing the upcoming challenge, Marquez emphasized the importance of maintaining strict concentration across every session. Sepang presents a completely different layout compared to Phillip Island, making efficient energy management and precise bike setup crucial for all contenders.

"Sepang is a totally different track from Phillip Island and the climate here always makes everything more demanding," Marquez explained regarding the circuit's characteristics. "Saturday's race in Australia gave me great confidence, but we must stay focused: the goal is to continue being protagonists and manage every session and every effort in the best possible way."
Meanwhile, in the opposing garage, Pecco Bagnaia is eager to turn his fortunes around after enduring a challenging campaign. The Italian rider failed to finish the Sprint in Australia following a crash, yet he holds fond memories and strong confidence in Sepang, a venue traditionally favorable to the Desmosedici GP machine.
"Australia was not an easy weekend, but Sepang is one of the circuits I like the most among those outside Europe," stated Bagnaia. "Here the Desmosedici GP has known how to make a difference and we have wonderful memories. We will work hard from Friday to immediately recover good feelings and play our cards during the weekend."
The on-track action in Sepang is expected to deliver fierce battles from the opening free practice sessions. Teams are racing against the clock to find optimal setups to master the soaring track temperatures and secure maximum points as the championship concludes its Asian leg.
