The morning warm-up session at the Malaysian Grand Prix witnessed a masterclass performance from Marc Marquez as he scorched around the Sepang International Circuit. The Ducati Lenovo Team star waited until the halfway mark of the brief ten-minute session before emerging from the pit lane, yet he instantly neutralized the opposition by posting a blistering lap time of 1'58.902.

Employing a calculated strategy to combat the intense track heat, the Spaniard completed just three flying laps to secure the benchmark time. His younger sibling, Alex Marquez, finished the session in second place, trailing by 0.486 seconds, while Saturday's Sprint victor Pedro Acosta rounded out the top three.

Further down the order, Ai Ogura steered his Aprilia to a promising fourth position, closely followed by Johann Zarco inside the top five. The remainder of the top ten was completed by Marco Bezzecchi, Brad Binder, Alex Rins, Fabio Di Giannantonio, and Joan Mir. Meanwhile, Franco Morbidelli suffered the sole crash of the session, leaving him at the bottom of the timing sheets in twentieth.

Reflecting on his brief yet effective outing, Marquez expressed satisfaction with his machine's setup. "I only ran the final laps to check different engine mappings and setup adjustments. The feeling was good, but we know that track conditions between the warm-up and the main race can change significantly," Marquez stated.

As track temperatures soared to 40 degrees Celsius under a 32-degree ambient environment, tire management remained a primary discussion point in the paddock. While most riders opted for soft compound Michelin tires at both ends, Brad Binder and Alex Rins took a gamble by selecting the medium front tire. With the persistent threat of rain looming over the 20-lap Grand Prix, tension continues to rise as the championship battle reaches a critical juncture.
