As the paddock gathers at the Lusail International Circuit, Marc Marquez stands on the precipice of clinching his eighth world title. Yet, amidst the tension of the championship decider, the narrative surrounding the racing ethics between him and his brother, Alex Marquez, has taken center stage.

Following his victory in Malaysia, Marc addressed the scrutiny regarding his brother's cautious approach when racing him. With Alex now sidelined for the Qatar GP due to shoulder surgery, the eight-time champion defended his brother against accusations of lacking aggression. The Ducati Lenovo Team leader emphasized that managing risks is a hallmark of their professional relationship.
"If your brother is playing for a world championship, you don't just throw your bike at him and see what happens," Marc stated during Thursday's media session in Lusail. He maintained that reckless racing in such a high-stakes environment would be irresponsible. "Even less so, because we both race for Ducati. If you do that, then it means you're a bad brother; you should call him and apologize."

This perspective highlights the unique dynamics within the Ducati camp this season. Marc praised Alex’s resilience during the second half of the year, noting that his brother managed his risks effectively even while battling physical limitations. At the Lusail circuit, where tire management under the floodlights is paramount, Marc remains laser-focused on his primary objective.
With a 44-point lead in the championship, the Spaniard appears composed and clinical. While the absence of Alex Marquez alters the track dynamics, Marc is prepared to navigate the challenges of the desert circuit to secure his place in history, proving that brotherhood and championship ambition can indeed coexist on the world stage.
