Thomas Bridewell initially shone before a yellow-flag penalty and a late crash dashed his hopes. Then it became an internal Aruba.it battle between Nicolo Bulega and Iker Lecuona.
Bulega was first to dip below 1:35, but Lecuona responded to snatch provisional pole. With three minutes left, the duel intensified as both riders pushed their limits.
