Laurent Mekies has officially signed a major contract extension to remain as team principal of the Red Bull Formula 1 outfit through to the end of the 2031 season. The French engineer, who took over the leadership role from Christian Horner in July 2025 after moving across from Racing Bulls, is now secured for at least six full seasons at the helm of the Milton Keynes-based squad.
This crucial long-term commitment arrives as Red Bull successfully steers through a challenging adaptation period following the major 2026 regulation changes. Despite a sluggish start to the new technical era, the squad has mounted a fierce resurgence on track through relentless car development, moving firmly back into the upper echelons of the constructors' championship battle.
“I am incredibly proud to continue this journey with Oracle Red Bull Racing,” stated Mekies regarding his new multi-year deal. He expressed profound gratitude to the team's stakeholders and executive leadership for placing their trust in the long-term vision and ongoing project trajectory.
