The Formula 1 paddock faces another health-related hurdle as the circus arrives in Brazil. Aston Martin has officially confirmed that driver Lance Stroll will miss Thursday's media day at Interlagos. The decision was made as a precautionary measure as the Canadian continues to recover from a viral infection contracted after last weekend's Mexico City Grand Prix.
Symptoms emerged shortly after the conclusion of the Mexico round, and the team has opted to keep Stroll away from paddock duties to ensure a full recovery before the track action begins. Fernando Alonso will step in to cover his teammate's media commitments.
In an official statement, the team noted: "Lance will miss media day today as he continues to recover from a viral infection contracted in Mexico. He is recovering well, and we are confident he will return to the paddock on Friday."

The grueling nature of the back-to-back flyaway races has taken its toll on personnel and drivers alike. Recently, Kimi Antonelli and Valtteri Bottas were forced to skip media duties in Mexico due to illness, while Sergio Perez also struggled with his health during the opening day of the Mexican weekend.
Despite the Thursday absence, Aston Martin has provided no indication that Stroll's participation in Friday's practice sessions is in doubt. The team remains optimistic that the precautionary rest will allow him to be fully fit for the demanding São Paulo circuit.
Meanwhile, the paddock remains abuzz with the latest drama at Ferrari, where internal tensions between drivers are reaching a boiling point, overshadowing the historic achievement of Kimi Antonelli, who heads into the weekend as the newly crowned youngest F1 world champion.
