British racing outfit JHR Developments is officially set to make its highly anticipated return to the GB3 championship for the upcoming season finale weekend at the iconic Barcelona circuit. This appearance marks the team's maiden outing in the competitive single-seater series throughout the entire current racing year.
To tackle the final showdown in Spain, JHR Developments has signed two promising British rookie talents, Thomas Ingram Hill and Lewis Wherrell. Both young drivers are taking another significant step upward along the competitive single-seater racing ladder as they prepare for the demanding weekend ahead.
Team principal Steven Hunter expressed his satisfaction ahead of the season-closing event. We are very pleased to be back on the GB3 grid and to be fielding two really exciting prospects for the season finale in Barcelona, Hunter stated regarding the team's exciting comeback.
For Lewis Wherrell, the promotion follows a strong campaign in junior single-seater categories where the teenager showcased remarkable speed and racecraft after transitioning from a successful karting background.
I can not wait to make my GB3 debut, especially with JHR Developments, said Lewis Wherrell. We have had a brilliant season together in British F4, so having the opportunity to take this next step with a team I know so well makes it even more exciting for our crew.
Meanwhile, teammate Thomas Ingram Hill views the Barcelona weekend as an invaluable learning opportunity. Having previously raced in sports cars and the GB4 championship, Thomas Ingram Hill acknowledged that stepping up to the heavier and more powerful GB3 machinery requires a disciplined approach.
The main goal is mileage in preparation for next year, explained Thomas Ingram Hill. I want to get as many laps under my belt as I can, learn from every single session, and lean on the team's vast experience to understand the car properly.
