Isack Hadjar has successfully avoided a heavy sanction following an unexpected altercation with a fan within the bustling paddock area. The incident, which quickly caught the attention of the global Formula 1 community, unfolded on a busy Friday afternoon as teams were finalizing their urgent preparations ahead of the opening practice session on the race weekend schedule.
A widely circulated video on social media captured the moment when the French driver was approached by an individual seeking a photograph while he was navigating through a congested corridor. The young talent appeared disinterested in pausing and initially tried to keep the person at bay, but the situation escalated as he attempted to continue his brisk journey toward the Red Bull garage under tight time constraints.
The physical interaction caught the immediate attention of the FIA race stewards, prompting a formal summons for the driver to attend a hearing to explain the circumstances surrounding the video footage. After a thorough review of the events and the context provided during the session, the governing body ultimately opted to issue a formal warning rather than imposing a more severe penalty.

Explaining their lenient stance, the stewards acknowledged the mitigating factors in an official statement, noting that the driver was reacting to an uninvited and aggressive approach while lacking sufficient security personnel to manage the congested environment properly. The panel took into account that the individual had invaded the driver's personal space without consent, highlighting a broader ongoing issue regarding paddock congestion that drivers frequently face during race weekends.
The official statement elaborated on the verdict, "The driver stated that he was running late for the first practice session and had stopped to have a photograph with a young fan, when he was approached by a paddock guest in an aggressive manner. One security person was walking behind him and was unable to intervene and prevent what was tantamount to an invasion of the driver’s private space."
The statement concluded with the justification for the mitigated penalty, "The driver initially resisted the move by placing his hand on the waist of the guest, holding him at bay, then the driver pushed him aside with his open right hand. This latter action by the driver is regarded as a breach of the regulations, however, in mitigation of penalty the stewards considered the driver was reacting to an uninvited action, was moving through a congested area without sufficient security, and faced a general issue drivers experience in the paddock."
