A dramatic turning point unfolded during the weekend racing action when Aaron Cameron saw his race come to an abrupt and blazing halt on the 14th lap. The machine suffered a major fire outbreak, forcing the driver to quickly pull over to the inside of the corner and execute safety protocols to escape unhurt.
Quick thinking from Aaron Cameron allowed him to trigger the onboard fire suppression system located at the base of the windscreen. Circuit marshals also arrived swiftly to assist in extinguishing the flames, though the vehicle still sustained significant structural and cosmetic damage from the intense heat.
Initial evaluations inside the paddock brought up contrasting theories regarding the failure. Engineer Daniel Veronese speculated in the immediate aftermath that an electrical fault might have triggered the sudden blaze under the bodywork.

However, team principal Tim Blanchard offered a different perspective to Speedcafe, stating that damage to the exhaust outlet likely pushed the side skirt into the hot pipes, igniting the fierce fire.
The squad opted to conduct repairs directly at the circuit using available spares rather than rushing back to the workshop, aiming to get the damaged machine race-ready despite the massive workload ahead.
