The President of the Automobile Club d'Italia (ACI), Geronimo La Russa, has publicly expressed his support. “Given the complicated international situation in the Middle East, we are working with government and sports institutions to be ready to organize a second Formula 1 Grand Prix in our country, within the current championship,” he said. “Imola is the ideal solution to host a new GP of the world's most prestigious racing series.”
Warm words came from the Mayor of Imola, Marco Panieri. “We welcome the words of ACI President Geronimo La Russa and the support from sports institutions for the possibility of hosting a second Formula 1 Grand Prix in our country. This is a clear signal that confirms the centrality and strategic value of the Enzo e Dino Ferrari International Circuit,” he said. Panieri also emphasized that communication with Formula 1 has never been interrupted, especially after the meeting at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Investments and the Future of the Circuit
Panieri stressed that investments continue to make the circuit more modern and competitive. “Our region, together with Emilia-Romagna, is making significant investments to make the facility increasingly modern, competitive, and cutting-edge,” he explained. “We are always ready, as we have been in the past, to answer the call. However, to fully seize this extraordinary opportunity, a joint commitment and adequate resources are needed.”
If it happens, Imola will not only host a race, but will also become the center of global attention. This is a golden opportunity for Italy to shine again on the F1 stage, while reviving the glorious memories of the past.
