Haas has completed another Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) session at Portimao, giving three drivers laps in the VF-25. The move signals the American squad's intent to finalize its driver lineup for the 2027 season.
Ryo Hirakawa, Leonardo Fornaroli, and Rafael Camara each took turns at the Portuguese circuit from 26-28 August. Hirakawa serves as Haas's reserve driver, while Fornaroli is the 2025 Formula 2 champion and McLaren development driver, and Camara is an F2 title contender and Ferrari junior.
This marks Haas's second TPC test in a month, following a session at Fuji where Toyota-backed drivers Sho Tsuboi and Nirei Fukuzumi participated. The pattern underscores Haas's thorough evaluation process before deciding on its second seat for 2027.
With Oliver Bearman confirmed to stay, attention now turns to Esteban Ocon's future. Haas has made it clear it is considering all options.
Team principal Ayao Komatsu welcomed the interest from drivers. "It's really good that other people are actually interested in us. We're not performing so well, but they can see the potential," he said ahead of the Dutch GP.
Komatsu stressed patience: "We're not in any rush. We're focused on our two drivers, Ollie and Esteban, to get the best out of them. The decision will come in due time."
Haas has historically been one of the last teams to announce its lineup. With stability elsewhere on the grid for 2027, a similar timeline is plausible.
