The National Centre for Circus Arts in London transformed into a breathtaking spectacle of green neon lighting as Fortescue Zero Racing officially revealed its Season 13 challenger. The launch event, featuring captivating circus performances, marked a milestone moment as the brand-new outfit prepares for its maiden campaign in a championship poised to reach unprecedented technical heights.
Hosted by Claire Williams—bridging connections from the former F1 squad's Advanced Engineering division—the evening introduced key figures including Team Principal Jim Wright, new driver signing Dan Ticktum, and Executive Chairman Dr Andrew Forrest. The high-profile gathering underscored the immense ambition driving the team's arrival on the global electric racing stage.
Behind the glittering presentation lies a frantic race against the clock. Following the decision to secure assets from the defunct Penske operation, Dr Andrew Forrest and his management group faced a staggering 60-day turnaround to pull off a launch day event that stands as a remarkable operational feat.

Speaking exclusively to Motorsport Week, Jim Wright candidly addressed the colossal logistical hurdles his squad faces while building their inaugural race machines entirely from scratch. "We’ve bought assets from Penske, but none of those are transferable," Wright explained regarding the massive restructuring effort.
"We bought certain assets, obviously with the team licence, and some of the personnel, but not all, because 40% of the Penske workforce were actually scientists implanted there. All of the equipment doesn’t fit anymore, so what we’re doing is building two cars from scratch, and that’s coming together very quickly," he added.
With a strict Wednesday evening deadline to ship the freight out to Spain, team members have adopted an all-hands-on-deck mentality. Around 30 dedicated personnel sacrificed their weekend to assemble the infrastructure, pit garage, and IT systems required before conducting initial shakedowns.
Securing Dan Ticktum serves as a major statement of intent for the fledgling outfit. Wright praised the British driver's exceptional racecraft and distinctive personality as key driving forces behind the pursuit to lock down his signature for the upcoming campaign.
While the absence of Taylor Barnard raised eyebrows during the London presentation, the team's immediate focus remains firmly locked on overcoming logistical hurdles and finalizing car setups ahead of official pre-season testing. The daunting challenge ahead sets the stage for a compelling debut narrative in the electric single-seater championship.
