Ferrari has opened a nostalgic chapter for this weekend's Italian Grand Prix. The Scuderia unveiled a special race suit themed around Michael Schumacher, a tribute to the legendary German's glittering career with the Maranello-based squad.
2026 marks 30 years since Schumacher joined Ferrari. Over a decade with the team, he secured five consecutive World Championships from 2000 to 2004, the most successful period in Ferrari's Formula 1 history. Since then, the team has managed only one Drivers' and one Constructors' title each.
The 1996 season was a transitional year for Ferrari. Schumacher was well aware that title hopes were slim, yet he still delivered three Grand Prix victories, the third coming at Monza. That moment laid the foundation for Ferrari's resurgence.
The race suit features Schumacher's iconic logo, depicting a race car interwoven with his initials. On the back, seven stars represent his seven World Championships, inspired by the design atop his legendary helmet.
Ferrari is also expected to reveal a special livery inspired by the F310, the car from Schumacher's debut campaign in 1996, ahead of the race next weekend.
The announcement comes amid a tense season for Ferrari. The pairing of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc is beginning to show synergy, and this home race will be a real test for their relationship.
With a strong touch of history, this year's Italian GP is set to be a special moment for the tifosi, honoring Schumacher's glory while anticipating the performances of his successors.
