Lewis Hamilton and the Ferrari squad are gearing up for a crucial phase of the Formula 1 season by introducing a significant technical upgrade package featuring a brand-new floor at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. According to Motorsport.com, the Maranello outfit is slated to run the updated floor component at next week's United States Grand Prix, marking a major development milestone in the latter stages of the campaign.
The primary objective of this new floor is to maintain or increase downforce levels while simultaneously allowing the team to run a slightly less stiff suspension setup. This strategic adjustment is engineered to widen the car's operating window, giving the drivers better adaptability across the demanding high-speed and technical corners of the Austin circuit layout.
Alongside this floor evolution, revised sidepods and bodywork components are also imminent additions to the technical roadmap. These updated bodywork parts might officially make their debut on the SF-26 chassis during the upcoming Mexican Grand Prix scheduled from 30 October to 1 November, highlighting the Italian constructor's relentless push for aerodynamic refinement.

Currently, the Scuderia sits comfortably in second place in the constructors' standings with 444 points, trailing championship leaders Mercedes who hold 578 points. Meanwhile, McLaren occupies third position with 339 points, closely monitored by Red Bull in fourth place with 332 points.
The intense battle at the summit prompted Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur to address whether the Milton Keynes squad has established itself as the undisputed benchmark following their dominant weekend in Singapore. Vasseur dismissed the notion that any single team is currently unbeatable given the fluctuating competitive order.
"Not sure," the Frenchman told Motorsport.com and other media outlets. "Honestly, they are doing very well, but it's not the team to beat. If you look at the McLaren and Mercedes, if you have a look from the beginning of the season, Mercedes was flying, then we won two races, then McLaren won two races, then Red Bull won two or three."
Emphasizing the tight margins in the current grid, Vasseur noted how quickly momentum can swing based on development races. "I think it's changing, because quite often you have four teams, I think yesterday you had four teams in less than two races. It means that if someone is bringing upgrades next week, the classification can change. But the most important thing is to be focused on ourselves, not to think about the others," he concluded ahead of the race weekend from 23-25 October.
