The Lusail International Circuit once again delivered breathtaking nighttime racing drama as Fabio Di Giannantonio put on a stellar performance during the intense sprint race. The Italian rider successfully converted his strong pace from the free practice sessions into a valuable second-place finish under the dazzling floodlights of the Persian Gulf desert.
The battle for the podium reached its peak in the closing laps when the VR46 charger launched a precise attack to overcome a resilient Jorge Martin. Executing crucial overtaking maneuvers, he carved his way through to secure the runner-up spot behind race winner Marc Marquez, showcasing exceptional late-braking skills and tyre management.
"This track is incredible, I just love riding here, and the race was absolutely wild out there," Di Giannantonio remarked regarding the fierce on-track battles. Despite minor regrets over having to switch to a medium rear compound due to a lack of available soft tyres, his consistent race rhythm proved more than enough to fend off late pressure and secure the runner-up trophy.

The celebratory atmosphere reached a heartwarming peak right after the podium ceremony when team boss Valentino Rossi made a surprise video call to personally congratulate his star rider on the remarkable achievement. The supportive gesture from the motorsport icon added an extra layer of motivation as the Italian rider aims to climb higher in the championship standings during the final phase of the season.
With this haul of nine points from the sprint, Di Giannantonio solidifies his sixth place in the overall world championship standings with 274 points, narrowing the gap to the riders immediately ahead of him as the championship battle intensifies.
