Freddie Slater and Ugo Ugochukwu are set for a thrilling season finale in Formula 3 at the Madring circuit in Spain this weekend. The two have dominated the season, and only one will emerge as champion.
Entering the final round, Freddie Slater leads the championship by 15 points over Ugochukwu. Despite a disastrous last weekend in Monza, which saw a front-row DNF, the TRIDENT driver has shown strong pace throughout the season, including topping two sessions of in-season testing at the Madring. A win in Madrid would secure a fourth consecutive Drivers' title for TRIDENT.
However, Ugochukwu cannot be counted out. The Campos driver led the championship for most of the season and consistently featured on the podium in the first half. Although he was outqualified by Slater in a rough run of races, he bounced back with a brilliant recovery drive in Monza. Ugo Ugochukwu also holds the fastest lap time set around the Madring, which could be a valuable asset.

The Madring circuit, with its 5.416km length and 22 technical corners, will pose a new challenge for the drivers. Despite testing at the circuit last month, there is still uncertainty due to the numerous red flags during testing. The Madrid race will also use a different format: two qualifying sessions on Friday, a sprint race and first feature race on Saturday, and the second feature race on Sunday.
With three races scheduled, any mistake could be costly. Slater and Ugochukwu must be flawless to secure the title. This intense battle is expected to go down to the wire.
Don't miss the action of these young drivers in Formula 3 Madrid this weekend. Who will be crowned champion? We'll find out.
