The Moto2 weekend at Sepang International Circuit proved to be an uphill battle for Zonta van den Goorbergh and the Momoven Idrofoglia RW Racing Team. The Dutch rider struggled to find a competitive rhythm, ultimately crossing the finish line in 21st place during a grueling race held under scorching track temperatures and extreme humidity in Malaysia.
Trouble had already plagued the team's garage from the opening practice sessions. Persistent electronic failures, including frustrating issues with the quickshifter mechanism, severely restricted valuable track time and denied the crew a proper setup window. Forced into a difficult Saturday afternoon session, the rider could only manage the 26th spot on the starting grid, heavily compromising his prospects for Sunday's main event.
When the red lights went out, an aggressive launch allowed him to quickly snatch up a few positions in the frantic opening laps. However, the lack of crucial long-run data gathered earlier in the weekend quickly caught up with the machine's tire wear. Maintaining a consistent pace became an impossible task as the race wore on, leading to a lonely finish more than 33 seconds adrift of the race leader.

The garage's misery was compounded further on the other side of the pit wall, where teammate Ayumu Sasaki suffered a heavy crash midway through the Grand Prix. The Japanese rider's premature exit ensured a completely scoreless weekend for the Dutch outfit under profoundly difficult circumstances.
Refusing to let the setback define their campaign, the team immediately turned their focus toward future improvements. Analyzing the root causes of the electronic failure remains top priority as the championship prepares to head into its final stretch of intense international rounds.
