Monster Energy Yamaha Team Manager Massimo Meregalli emphasized the event’s importance, stating, “It’s our home race, and we aim to perform strongly for our fans and factory staff.” Consequently, Yamaha is focusing on gathering critical data for its 2026 V4 engine, previously tested by Augusto Fernandez in Misano.
Nevertheless, the team remains committed to excelling in the remaining 2025 races, starting with Motegi. The unique atmosphere and fan support provide an ideal setting to demonstrate Yamaha’s determination.
Quartararo and Rins Ready to Shine
Fabio Quartararo expressed excitement for the Japan race, highlighting the vibrant fan culture. “The fans’ custom masks, banners, and outfits create a unique atmosphere,” he said. Despite the impending retirement of the inline-four engine, Quartararo is determined to deliver his best performance, focusing on immediate results.
Similarly, Alex Rins underscored the race’s importance for Yamaha. “The incredible fan support gives us extra motivation,” Rins noted. He aims to kick off the weekend strongly, capitalizing on the team’s momentum.

The V4 engine, set to power both Monster Energy Yamaha and Pramac Yamaha in 2026, is central to the team’s strategy.
