Warning Issued Over Fake Adelaide MotoGP Website Circulating Online

A stern warning has been issued by South Australian Minister for Consumer and Business Affairs, Michael Brown, regarding a fake website masquerading as the official site for the 2027 Australian Grand Prix. The website, adelaidemotogp.com, is not legitimate and could mislead unsuspecting fans.

Brown expressed concern as the site spread widely on social media this week. "It is very concerning that this page purporting to be an official MotoGP Adelaide website and containing misinformation and AI content is circulating on social media," he said. He added that the page not only contains inaccurate information about camping in the Park Lands and the Adelaide circuit but also claims to be an official ticket seller and encourages people to sign up and provide personal information.

Furthermore, Brown warned that with the popularity of MotoGP, many South Australians could potentially be scammed. "Please be on high alert and watch out for red flags including unusual payment methods and currencies that indicate that it is based overseas," he urged.

The fake site includes a disclaimer stating it is "unofficial and is not associated in any way with Dorna Sports S.L. or the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM)." However, it links to TicketsGP, a Czech-based ticketing agency that claims over 10 years of experience and describes itself as "unofficial and is not associated in any way" with Formula 1, WEC, WorldSBK, or MotoGP.

The warning comes after the website was shared widely on social media. Brown stressed that fans should not provide their details to the website. The official website for the Australian Grand Prix is www.motogpadl.com.au.

This incident serves as a reminder for MotoGP fans to be vigilant when seeking information and official tickets, especially ahead of the sport's return to Australia. It also highlights the importance of verifying sources before engaging in online transactions.
