Valentino Rossi has never been far from the spotlight. Now, eight years after retiring from MotoGP, the Italian legend is set to turn a new page with the release of his autobiography, La Mia Storia, in November 2026. The 480-page book, co-written with Italian journalist and author Giorgio Terruzzi, promises to unveil sides of his life that have long been left to public speculation.
“Many things have been written about my life and my racing career. It’s time to tell the truth about what happened on and off the track,” Rossi said in the book’s promotional material. “I decided to write this book because I hope many people will enjoy my story and be moved by it.”
For die-hard MotoGP fans, the name Valentino Rossi is more than just a rider. He is an icon with nine world titles and 115 Grand Prix wins. In La Mia Storia, Rossi is expected to delve into the rivalries that defined his career, from feuds with Max Biaggi and Sete Gibernau to fierce battles with Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo, and Marc Marquez.

However, the spotlight will likely fall on the 2015 season. That year, Rossi fought tooth and nail for the championship until the final race, only to concede the title to his Yamaha teammate, Lorenzo. The controversial incident with Marquez at Sepang remains one of the most talked-about episodes in MotoGP history, and Rossi promises to tell his own version.
The book also goes beyond the track. Rossi will discuss his interest in Formula 1 and Ferrari. At the height of his MotoGP career, he tested a Ferrari and seriously considered a switch to car racing. He also opens up about his conflict with Italian tax authorities, a period that drew much attention outside the racing world.
Moreover, La Mia Storia offers a more personal portrait of Rossi. He writes about his private life, encounters with famous people, friendships with artists, nights in Ibiza, and personal relationships. The publisher describes the book as a mature reflection, written with “passion, clarity, and self-deprecating humour.”
Rossi’s decision to speak candidly could be a landmark moment for MotoGP history. For years, many behind-the-scenes stories have circulated only as rumours. With this book, Rossi hopes to set the record straight and entertain the fans who have followed him for decades. La Mia Storia is scheduled for release in November 2026 and is already eagerly awaited by millions of fans worldwide.
