According to reports, Honda will cover the penalty fee resulting from the termination of Quartararo's contract with Monster Energy, which was originally set to expire after 2026. This move underscores Honda's commitment to streamlining their sponsorship structure without burdening the French rider.
Red Bull's comeback to the Honda squad after a hiatus since late 2023 is the main catalyst. Previously, Red Bull left Honda alongside Marc Marquez's departure to Gresini Racing. Now, with Marquez having returned to Honda, Red Bull has rekindled its partnership with the Japanese manufacturer.
