A challenging campaign saw Sami Pajari fight his way up from fifth to third on the leaderboard during a dramatic day of rallying. While the podium position looks impressive on paper, much of his progress came as the rivals running ahead hit trouble on the stages.
In any normal rally scenario, holding third place would mark a strong performance to celebrate in the Toyota camp. However, with the high-stakes WRC world championship battle on the line, a standard podium finish simply is not enough for the young Finn's ultimate ambitions.
Current championship leader Elfyn Evans sits behind Pajari in fifth place. Although the points gap is gradually narrowing down, the arithmetic shows it is not coming down fast enough to completely alter the title outlook.

Reflecting on Saturday's action, Pajari admitted the day did not unfold precisely as anticipated. He noted that while extra risks could have saved a few fractions of a second, the raw pace of the car wouldn't have genuinely lifted him any higher.
Looking ahead to Sunday, the battle for additional points and rally glory promises absolute chaos. With rough road conditions and multiple drivers pushing to the absolute limit, the final day is bound to deliver plenty of unexpected twists.
