Russell Wins Dutch GP Sprint in Dominant Fashion

George Russell claimed a commanding victory in the Formula 1 Sprint Race at the Dutch Grand Prix, leading from Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris in the opening race of the Zandvoort weekend. Starting from pole, Russell maintained his advantage from lights out to the chequered flag.

For Russell, this win felt particularly sweet after a season where he has often been overshadowed by his teammate, Kimi Antonelli, who has impressed with Mercedes. But at Zandvoort, Russell's performance stood out, while Antonelli had to settle for fifth on the grid.

At the start, Norris tried to pressure Russell, but the Mercedes driver held his position. Leclerc was also lurking behind, but Antonelli's quick rise to fourth added extra pressure on Charles Leclerc.

It was a difficult day for Nico Hulkenberg, who lost positions from the start. The Audi driver eventually pitted and retired on lap 5. Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso slowly moved up from the back.

Leclerc tried everything to overtake Norris. On lap 17, he made a bold move at Turn 1 to take second place. But Russell was already too far ahead and remained unchallenged to the finish.

This win secures valuable points for Russell and sends a strong signal that he remains a force to be reckoned with in the 2026 season.
