A major development has unfolded in the paddock as RT Motorsports led by Rob Vennegoor officially announced a strategic partnership with Honda Europe. Starting from the 2027 season, the proven Dutch racing structure will step into the World Sportbike Championship under the official banner of RT Motorsports – Honda Racing.
Until the end of 2024, the squad established itself as a benchmark in the Supersport 300 World Championship. Operating as a Kawasaki outfit alongside tuning specialist Frank Krekeler, their crowning achievement arrived in 2021 when British contender Tom Booth-Amos secured the runner-up position in the world standings, collecting six podium finishes and two stunning race victories.

Following their subsequent split, the team shifted its core focus to the emerging Sportbike category, competing successfully in IDM and Euro Moto with Triumph machinery. Their competitive momentum yielded immediate dividends when they guided Inigo Iglesias to the 2025 Sportbike title, quickly followed by race wins and podium celebrations courtesy of Jakob Rosenthaler, Tom Kuil, and Bruno Ieraci.

When the opportunity arose directly from Honda Europe to spearhead the manufacturer's return to the world stage with their competitive machinery, Vennegoor seized the chance without hesitation. Years of dedication and durable partnerships laid the ideal groundwork for this exciting new chapter.

We are extremely proud to embark on this new project, and the trust shown by Honda is a huge recognition for us after many years of hard work, achieved successes, and building strong, lasting relationships with our loyal partners, Vennegoor stated regarding the ambitious 2027 campaign.
Under current regulations, the manufacturer homologated identical motorcycle specifications for both Supersport and Sportbike classes. Track presence for the brand steadily grew throughout the season after the AG Motorsport Italia squad transitioned mid-season to campaign the Japanese machinery in the paddock.

While official rider announcements remain pending, the team has already evaluated promising talent during private testing at Hockenheim. Spanish competitor Daniel Mogeda, boasting extensive experience across lightweight classes and Sportbike machinery, emerges as a prime candidate for a seat.
We are currently holding discussions with several riders, and in the coming weeks we will announce our official line-up alongside our partners for the 2027 season, Vennegoor concluded, expressing immense gratitude toward the manufacturer and his network of supporters.
