Former Formula 1 race winner Ralf Schumacher has strongly criticized former Red Bull team boss Christian Horner, labeling his recent remarks regarding Helmut Marko as completely tasteless as the fallout from his departure continues to unfold in the paddock.

Horner spent twenty years at the helm of Red Bull Racing from 2005 to 2025, guiding the Milton Keynes outfit to eight drivers' world championships during an era of unprecedented dominance. However, following his dismissal midway through the 2025 season, he has been actively seeking a route back into the sport, with various paddock links failing to materialize into a concrete role.

With the release of a new book drawing media attention, Horner has made a series of explosive revelations about his final months with the team, highlighting his soured relationship with senior advisor Marko during an interview with Bild. The former team principal expressed deep hurt over Marko's alleged involvement in his sacking, noting the lack of condolences offered following the recent passing of his ex-partner and the mother of his daughter.

Horner also pointed the finger at Marko regarding the struggles faced by several Red Bull junior drivers promoted prematurely to the senior squad. These remarks prompted a swift rebuke from Schumacher, who believes Horner is actively tarnishing the legacy he built during his two decades of immense success with the organization.

"Unfortunately, it's nothing new with Christian Horner that one or the other time was a bit tasteless," Schumacher told Sky Germany. "I think that's a shame. He is ruining all his own work, because he was very successful together with the team. He played a major role in influencing the engine with which Red Bull won races here. He got the people and then did something like that. That's just a shame and sad."

Meanwhile, Marko quickly fired back at the allegations, dismissing Horner's statements as a collection of untruths. Despite the ongoing war of words, Horner recently acknowledged that key stakeholders, including CEO Oliver Mintzlaff, reached out to thank him for his foundational work on the team's upcoming Ford powertrain project following recent Grand Prix victories.
