BIOGRAPHY

Fabio Di Giannantonio is an Italian MotoGP rider affectionately known by his nickname, "Diggia." Having started and built most of his career with Gresini Racing, he is known as a rider with extraordinary mental toughness and determination. Once on the verge of losing his seat in the premier class, Diggia successfully turned things around through brilliant performances at crucial moments. With a smooth yet precise riding style, he is now one of the most highly regarded Ducati riders on the MotoGP grid.

Career Journey

Early Career & Top Contender in Moto3 (2015–2018): Making his full-time debut in the Moto3 class in 2016 with Gresini Racing, Diggia's talent developed rapidly through a string of podium finishes. His peak performance in the lightweight class came in the 2018 season, where he was highly competitive and consistent, securing the Moto3 World Championship runner-up title.

Moto2 Transition & Premier Class Debut (2019–2022): Moving up to the Moto2 class in the 2019 season with the Speed Up team, he immediately clinched the Rookie of the Year title. After returning to Gresini in Moto2 in 2021 and scoring his maiden victory, Diggia was promoted to the MotoGP premier class in 2022. His debut season was spent as a challenging adaptation period to tame the ferocious power of the Ducati Desmosedici.

Proving Himself & Emotional Victory (2023): The 2023 season marked the most epic turning point for Diggia. Amid the certainty of losing his Gresini seat due to Marc Marquez's arrival for the following season, he delivered outstanding performances in the latter half of the year. He achieved his first premier class podium at Phillip Island and scored a highly emotional maiden victory at the 2023 Qatar Grand Prix, proving his worth to stay in MotoGP.

A New Chapter with VR46 & Factory Machinery (2024–Present): His heroic performances led Diggia to be signed by Valentino Rossi's team, Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, for the 2024 season. Although his first season with VR46 had to end prematurely due to left shoulder surgery, his consistent performances earned him a direct, exclusive contract from the Ducati factory. Entering the 2025 and 2026 seasons riding the latest factory-spec machinery (Desmosedici GP25), Diggia is ready to aim for more ambitious targets alongside his teammate, Franco Morbidelli.
