BIOGRAPHY

Alex Rins is a Spanish MotoGP rider known for his incredibly smooth, elegant riding style and his ability to maintain high corner speed. With a long history of scoring spectacular last-lap victories against top riders, Rins is one of the most respected talents on the grid. After years of spearheading the Suzuki factory project, he now carries a massive mission of revival with the Yamaha factory.

Career Journey

  • Early Career & Top-Tier Consistency (2012–2016): Competing in the Moto3 and Moto2 classes, Rins was always a primary title contender. Although he never clinched a world championship in the lightweight and intermediate classes, he successfully finished as the runner-up in Moto3 (2013) and Moto2 (2015), making him a highly sought-after prospect for the premier class.
  • Suzuki Era & Epic Victories (2017–2022): Making his MotoGP debut with the Suzuki Ecstar factory team in 2017, he slowly transformed into a consistent race winner. His most iconic moment was an epic last-corner victory against Marc Marquez at Silverstone in 2019. Rins also delivered a highly emotional parting gift to Suzuki by winning the manufacturer's final race in Valencia in 2022 before their withdrawal from MotoGP.
  • LCR Honda Surprise & Injury Storm (2023): Moving to the LCR Honda satellite team in 2023, Rins sensationally won the Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin, ending Honda's winless streak amidst their bike performance crisis. Unfortunately, his season was devastated by a severe broken leg injury at Mugello, forcing him to miss months of racing and undergo multiple surgeries.
  • A New Chapter with Factory Yamaha (2024–Present): Seeking an inline-four machine better suited to his smooth riding style, Rins joined the Monster Energy Yamaha factory team starting in 2024. Entering the 2025 and 2026 seasons, Rins and his teammate, Fabio Quartararo, are working shoulder-to-shoulder to lead the massive development project of the YZR-M1 machinery, aiming to return the Iwata manufacturer to the very front of the grid.
