Theo Pourchaire has finally secured a full-time race seat in a single-seater world championship. The Frenchman was unveiled last week by Formula E's newest outfit for the Gen4 era, a move that many had long anticipated.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest young talents to miss out on Formula 1, Pourchaire struggled for race time since clinching the 2023 Formula 2 title. Now, he'll race full-time in a series whose machinery is similar to—and expected to be faster than—F2.

The 21-year-old has been a development driver for Mercedes, alongside stints in IndyCar and the World Endurance Championship with Peugeot this year. His move to Formula E has received full backing from the German manufacturer.

"Yeah, I think they were fully okay with it. The most important thing for me is my main racing programmes," Pourchaire told RacingNews365.

He added that the F1 simulator remains crucial, revealing he'll be at the factory for Zandvoort simulation work until the early hours. "But for them, the most important thing—and for me—is that I have a full racing programme," he stressed.

This decision marks a new chapter in Pourchaire's career. With Mercedes' full support, he's ready to take on Formula E's new era head-on.
