MotoGP Silverstone: Martin Wins Sprint, Marquez Struggles

Silverstone witnessed Aprilia's dominance in the 2026 British MotoGP Sprint. Jorge Martin put on a flawless performance, taking victory in front of the British crowd while extending his championship lead over rival Marc Marquez.

Starting from pole, Martin led from lights out and never looked threatened. He crossed the line with a slim margin over an impressive Ai Ogura, while Marco Bezzecchi rounded out the podium after a fierce battle throughout the 10-lap dash. This result underlines that Aprilia's RS-GP 2026 is the strongest package on fast tracks like Silverstone.

On the other side, it was a tough day for Marquez. The Ducati rider complained of tyre degradation from mid-race onwards, steadily losing positions to eventually finish ninth. That result leaves him 29 points behind Martin in the standings, a significant blow in what is still a long title fight.
