Jorge Martin once again proved his class at Silverstone. The Aprilia rider took pole position for the British Grand Prix after a stunning late charge in qualifying.
Martin, who leads the MotoGP standings, set a 1m56.160s lap on his final run, edging out Trackhouse's Raul Fernandez by just 0.021s. Fernandez had briefly broken the lap record before Martin's late upset.
The result means Aprilia continues its Silverstone dominance, with all four riders inside the top five. Ai Ogura took third, securing another front-row lockout for the marque this season.
Fabio di Giannantonio was the best Ducati in fourth, ahead of a still-injured Marco Bezzecchi. Meanwhile, Marc Marquez could only manage sixth after fading in the final runs.
Franco Morbidelli came through Q1 to take eighth, while stand-in Iker Lecuona impressed in tenth. Francesco Bagnaia, however, was eliminated in Q1 and will start 16th, his worst qualifying of the season.
