MotoGP 2027: Confirmed Riders and Latest Rumors

The 2027 season is set to be a massive turning point for MotoGP. Beyond the new technical regulations that replace 1000cc engines with 850cc, ban ride-height devices, and simplify aerodynamics, the premier class will also switch from Michelin to Pirelli tires. So far, only three names have secured seats for 2027. Two come from the Honda camp: Johann Zarco confirmed to stay at LCR, and rookie Diogo Moreira who signed a multi-year deal starting in 2026. The other is Toprak Razgatlioglu, who will make his MotoGP debut with Pramac Yamaha this season. With his WorldSBK experience, the Turkish rider is expected to leverage his knowledge of Pirelli tires to be competitive in 2027.

Marc Marquez is the center of attention. The reigning champion's contract with Ducati expires this year, and he has confirmed that a two-year extension is just a step away. Ducati has stated their top priority is retaining Marquez before considering the future of Francesco Bagnaia. Meanwhile, surprising news emerged from Fabio Quartararo, who is reported to have signed with Honda, even before testing the latest Yamaha V4.

If Quartararo's move to Honda is true, HRC would have filled three of its four seats, with Luca Marini also impressing. What about Jorge Martin? Meanwhile, Joan Mir, who finished 2025 strongly with Honda, still has an uncertain future.

KTM was the first to showcase its 850cc engine. Their top priority is retaining Pedro Acosta, who has been linked to Ducati. If Acosta leaves, a big question emerges: where will Bagnaia go? Aprilia could be a potential destination. This situation makes the 2027 rider market one of the most dynamic in MotoGP history, with big names like Bagnaia, Acosta, and Bezzecchi all still in the air.
