MotoGP 2027: Almost Full Grid, Four Line-ups Left

Ahead of the 2027 season, the MotoGP paddock is buzzing with transfer news that reshapes the competitive landscape. From Ducati losing Francesco Bagnaia to Yamaha starting a new era without Fabio Quartararo, almost every rider seat is now filled, leaving just four line-ups still undecided.

The biggest decision came from the Borgo Panigale factory team. Marc Marquez will stay, but Bagnaia has to leave. His replacement? Pedro Acosta, who departs KTM. Meanwhile, 'Pecco' moves to Aprilia, joining Marco Bezzecchi and replacing Jorge Martin, who is already confirmed to join Yamaha.

Yamaha is truly starting from scratch. Besides Martin, they also secured Ai Ogura from Trackhouse. As a result, the Iwata factory's line-up changes completely. On the other hand, Fabio Quartararo chooses to stay with Honda, although Alex Rins' future remains unclear—with strong hints pointing to WorldSBK.

Honda also undergoes a major overhaul at its satellite team. LCR has confirmed Johann Zarco but is still searching for his teammate. Gresini, instead, takes a different path by signing Joan Mir from Honda and Daniel Holgado, who moves up from Moto2. Consequently, Alex Marquez has to leave and chooses KTM, as does Fabio Di Giannantonio—which then opens a seat at VR46 for Fermin Aldeguer.

VR46 still has one seat vacant alongside Aldeguer. Nicolo Bulega is the strongest candidate, while Franco Morbidelli is rumored to head to Superbike. The same fate may await Jack Miller, who has confirmed that 2027 will be his last year in MotoGP—he won't stay at Pramac, which then recruits Izan Guevara from Moto2.

Trackhouse is already sorted. Raul Fernandez remains, and Enea Bastianini comes in as his replacement. From the seat left by 'La Bestia' at the French team, Luca Marini is ready to open a new chapter after his difficult time at Honda—though his teammate is yet to be announced.

2027 Grid: Who's Already Confirmed?

Out of the ten teams on the grid, four are still incomplete: LCR (one seat), VR46 (one seat), and one more at the team Marini left. Thus, only official announcements are needed to complete the rider lineup for next season.
