Celebrating 140 years of automotive history, Mercedes-Benz is preparing to captivate enthusiasts at the Auto e Moto d’Epoca 2026 exhibition, scheduled to take place in Bologna from October 22 to 25. The Stuttgart-based manufacturer is bringing a curated selection of iconic sedans that trace the long journey of innovation, luxury, and racing DNA throughout the decades.
The main highlight of the exhibition is the presence of the newest Classe S, standing as the ultimate expression of luxury and the continuation of the brand’s rich tradition in the premium vehicle segment. This modern flagship will be placed alongside the legendary classic 300 D “Adenauer” (W 189) introduced in 1951, widely recognized as one of the direct ancestors of today’s flagship saloon.
The striking contrast between these two cross-generational models offers visitors a rare opportunity to witness the evolution of the brand’s sedan lineup up close. The exhibition highlights the relationship between stylistic continuity, massive technological development, and how the manufacturer adapts to changing customer demands over decades without losing its core identity.
The historical journey continues into the modern era with the presence of the new electric Classe C, representing a decisive step toward full electrification. Furthermore, the inclusion of the iconic sport model 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II enriches the display, reminding the public of the brand’s glorious touring car racing heritage.
Commenting on this significant participation, Mirco Scarchilli, Head of Retail Experience & Press Relations Mercedes-Benz Italia, shared his excitement with the public. “It is wonderful to celebrate this important anniversary with true automotive enthusiasts in all its countless facets,” Scarchilli stated, highlighting the historical value of the event.
He also added that close collaboration with local classic car clubs was instrumental in curating the display. “Therefore, together with our friends at the Mercedes-Benz Registro Italia, we chose to exhibit a selection of models that evoke iconic moments, serving as an ideal bridge between past and future, tradition and innovation,” he concluded.
