McLaren delivered a sharp warning to their drivers following a costly collision during the sprint race on the second day of the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix. The intra-team contact severely compromised the squad's points tally, overshadowing their performance in the subsequent qualifying session where both cars comfortably reached Q3. Team management made it clear that personal ambitions must never override the collective objectives of the organization.

During the qualifying hour, Lando Norris secured fifth place on the starting grid, while his teammate Oscar Piastri initially qualified seventh before being promoted to sixth due to a grid penalty for a rival. Despite locking out the third row of the grid side by side for the Grand Prix, attention remained firmly fixed on the earlier skirmish between the papaya-colored machines during the shorter sprint encounter.

The contact resulted in a disastrous outcome for the constructors' standings, as Piastri failed to finish the race and Norris crawled home in eighth position to salvage a single solitary point. Although the stewards' room ultimately opted against issuing any post-race penalties for the clash, the internal repercussions from the pit wall were immediate and uncompromising.

Team Principal Andrea Stella did not mince words when addressing the media after qualifying concluded, emphasizing the strict code of conduct expected within the factory walls. Stella stated, "It's been a long day. The sprint race was a race that gave us some good points at a moment when we were not in a position to win. Still, we were in a position to score good points. And we saw two McLarens having contact. Basically, going out of the race. Lando could score one point, but definitely that's not enough.">

Reiterating the core values of the organization, Stella added, "And, seeing two McLarens making contact like that is simply not acceptable. This is something that we will discuss with our drivers. We will do it in private. We will reiterate that the team's interest is far bigger than any of us. There's no ego. There's no person who's bigger than the interest of the McLaren Formula 1 team. This will be reiterated. I'm sure, like always, this will be a conversation that will lead to the team being more united and even stronger."/>
