Max Verstappen has delivered a scathing critique of modern Formula 1 engine regulations after a software glitch triggered widespread power loss for multiple drivers at Sepang.
Although the Dutchman secured his 72nd career grand prix victory alongside the maiden win for Red Bull Racing's in-house powertrain project, he could not hide his frustration over the chaotic, rain-affected formation lap.
Several competitors, notably including Lewis Hamilton, ran into major software-related hurdles on the grid due to an unprecedented mix of low engine speeds, slippery wet conditions, and complex energy recovery setups.

The FIA responded swiftly during the heavy rain delay by issuing a software update that removed energy limit constraints in affected sectors, allowing teams to recalibrate their power units safely before the race got underway.
