Kimi Antonelli secured a brilliant victory at the United States Grand Prix by executing a flawless one-stop strategy, putting him on the brink of history as Formula 1's youngest-ever world champion. The Italian prodigy controlled the race from the front, neutralizing mid-race challenges from his main rivals at the Circuit of the Americas.
As the lights went out, Kimi Antonelli immediately converted pole position into the race lead on medium tires. Behind him, Charles Leclerc briefly squeezed past Max Verstappen into Turn 4 on the opening lap, though the Red Bull driver fought back before the lap concluded. However, the Mercedes driver quickly built a comfortable two-second cushion, steadily extending his advantage during the first stint.
Red Bull attempted to shake up the order by pitting Max Verstappen early on lap 13 onto a two-stop strategy utilizing soft tires. While this briefly placed him in the lead sequence, handling woes soon compromised his pace as Max Verstappen radioed in to complain that his car had become nearly undriveable midway through the 56-lap encounter.

As the race entered its decisive phase, Kimi Antonelli easily reclaimed the lead by passing Charles Leclerc into the heavy braking zone of Turn 12. Mercedes' commitment to the hard compound paid dividends, leaving Ferrari to settle for the runner-up spot as the winning margin swelled to over 13 seconds at the checkered flag.
Although this ninth victory of the campaign brings Kimi Antonelli to the doorstep of the championship crown, he must wait at least one more round to officially seal the title. A late Virtual Safety Car called for Valtteri Bottas's stranded car failed to alter the commanding order at the front.
