Jorge Martin Withdraws From 2026 Malaysian GP Due to Wrist Injury

Jorge Martin's championship aspirations have suffered a major blow after the factory rider officially withdrew from the remainder of the Malaysian Grand Prix weekend at Sepang due to an ongoing wrist injury.

The Aprilia rider made the difficult decision alongside his team following the final practice session on Saturday morning, where physical limitations restricted him to 21st and last on the timesheets.

The injury stems from a high-speed crash during the Phillip Island sprint last week while battling for the lead against Marc Marquez, an accident that resulted in a non-displaced radius fracture and sidelined him from the Australian main event.

Despite passing initial medical evaluations by Dr. Angel Charte upon arrival in Sepang and attempting a limited run on Friday, the Spaniard struggled to apply necessary braking force around the 5.5km layout, finishing 1.8s adrift of the pacesetters.

Aprilia team manager Paolo Borona confirmed during the official broadcast that the collective choice was made to halt the weekend prematurely and shift complete focus toward a full recovery ahead of the upcoming Doha Grand Prix.
