A major blow has struck Jorge Martin and his championship aspirations as Aprilia officially confirmed his withdrawal from the remainder of the Malaysian MotoGP weekend due to ongoing physical struggles.
The title contender was forced to sit out the majority of Friday afternoon practice to rest his fractured wrist, an injury sustained following a high-speed crash while battling for victory against primary title rival Marc Marquez during the sprint race at the Australian Grand Prix.
Despite attempting a comeback during Saturday's final practice session, the Spaniard managed to complete only eight laps before walking out of the garage and sitting out Qualifying 1, prompting the team's decisive announcement.

The official statement confirmed the worst-case scenario for his weekend, stating: "Jorge Martin will withdraw from the remainder of the Malaysian GP to continue his recovery from injury."
With his primary rival now presented with a golden opportunity to extend a commanding lead in the standings at Sepang, the championship battle takes a dramatic and unforeseen turn as the season enters its final crucial stages.
