Jack Miller: Wind Made It 'Very Difficult' to Test Yamaha Aero at Silverstone

Jack Miller admitted it was "very f*****g difficult to tell anything" about Yamaha's updated aero package on Friday at the British Grand Prix, thanks to the unpredictable wind at Silverstone.

The Pramac Yamaha rider tested the new aero across both practice sessions. He managed to secure a direct Q2 spot in ninth, but the gusty conditions made it nearly impossible to draw any conclusions about the update.

"Honestly, you're asking the same as Yamaha. They're like, 'How do you feel with the aero?' It's very difficult to tell anything about aero out there because the crosswind was pretty bad. No two corners felt the same all day," Miller told media, including Crash.net.

The Australian added that some laps felt better than others depending on the wind direction. "It's a tough track, especially in these conditions, to really feel a big difference with aero. For the rest, it's pretty much the same as Sachsenring. We'll have a fresher engine tomorrow, so hopefully we can be a bit closer to the front," he explained.

Despite the challenges, Miller found positives. He said his Yamaha handled the wind well, especially crosswinds, and changed direction effectively. "It's a bit windy, but our bike seems to handle it pretty good. I saw some other manufacturers struggling more, but we're reasonably strong," he said.

Miller also revealed he used the slipstream of Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez to gain time on the straights. "Obviously, had to suck the arse out of them to get through, but it's nice to have a target there," he remarked.

Ending Friday inside the top ten gave him confidence. "It's always nice going to bed on Friday knowing you're in Q2. I feel good in braking and mid-corner. The bike is changing direction well. We can work on edge grip to build speed, especially through the last corner," Miller concluded.
