Absolute dominance was on display from Izan Guevara during the Moto2 Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi. Starting from pole position, the Spanish rider gave no real chance to his rivals, securing a brilliant back-to-back victory with a controlled and flawless performance throughout the weekend.
The race drama unfolded even before the start lights went out, as championship leader Manu Gonzalez suffered unexpected technical issues on the grid. Forced to abandon his original starting spot, the title contender had to launch his race from the pit lane, dealing a massive blow to his overall championship aspirations.
Capitalizing on the chaos, Guevara immediately rocketed into the lead as the race got underway. While the threat of rain loomed over the circuit, Tony Arbolino gradually closed the gap in the latter stages, culminating in a tense three-way battle for position involving Filip Salac with just three laps remaining.

Guevara brilliantly defended his lead under pressure, pulling away just enough to secure the victory ahead of Arbolino in second. Salac crossed the line to round out the podium in third, capping off a thrilling intermediate class encounter in Japan.
This triumph drastically closes the points gap in the championship standings. Meanwhile, Gonzalez's heroic efforts to salvage points from the pit lane ultimately ended with a last-place finish, setting the stage for an intense title fight in the upcoming rounds.
