Isack Hadjar has revealed more details about the injury that forced him to miss three Formula 1 rounds after the summer break. The Red Bull driver suffered a small fracture on the outside of his wrist and is now preparing to return to the cockpit at the 2026 Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku.
Hadjar suffered the injury while training during the F1 summer break. The setback forced him to miss the Dutch, Italian and Spanish Grands Prix. Liam Lawson deputised for Hadjar at Red Bull during his absence, while Yuki Tsunoda occupied the available seat at Racing Bulls.
Although he has not completely escaped the discomfort, Hadjar confirmed that his injury did not require surgery. His recovery has progressed naturally and is approaching the six-week mark, leading him to believe that his wrist is now strong enough to cope with the demands of an F1 weekend.

"I have a small fracture on the outside of the wrist. It's just quite a long process. I didn't need any surgery, so it's all natural, and it takes some time," Hadjar told media, including RacingNews365.
"It's still going to be painful for a while, but now it's going to be six weeks soon, and it says that it's strong enough at the moment to resist the tensions."
Ahead of his return in Baku, Red Bull also assessed Hadjar's physical condition through simulator work. The French driver said the session went well and provided an environment that is closely comparable to the conditions he will face once back behind the wheel of the F1 car.
Hadjar is relying on adrenaline to help him manage the return to racing and get through the demands of the weekend. He also admitted that his training routine has been limited during recovery because he has had to do very little with his left arm. His return in Baku also comes after Red Bull confirmed that Hadjar will continue racing for the team in the 2027 season.
