Diogo Moreira was left frustrated after the Silverstone MotoGP, although he felt it was a “positive” race for Honda. The LCR rider finished 10th, just one place behind Luca Marini, who was the best Honda finisher in the race.

Of the four Hondas that started at Silverstone, only Diogo Moreira and Luca Marini managed to see the chequered flag. Joan Mir crashed on the first lap, while Cal Crutchlow also fell, ending his likely final home race in bitter disappointment.

Better than Mir, but not satisfying enough for Moreira. “It was a difficult weekend,” he said. “In general it was positive because, at the end, I was fighting for top-10. But we are struggling a lot in these circuits with long corners.”

For him, the result remains a valuable boost for Honda. “For Honda it was a positive race. But I know we can make much more than a top-10. We are in a difficult situation,” the Brazilian added.

In the MotoGP standings, Moreira sits 15th, 32 points behind Marini, who is Honda's main hope this season. That gap shows there is still plenty of work for the Japanese manufacturer.

After Silverstone, MotoGP heads to Aragon on 28-30 August. Moreira has fond memories there: second in Moto2 last year, just 0.003 seconds behind Deniz Oncu. Can he repeat that form in the premier class? We will see.
