Pedro Acosta admitted he was 'really struggling' in the MotoGP Sprint at Aragon after a grid error cost him performance. The Red Bull KTM rider finished fourth, gaining two spots from sixth on the grid, but he believes the result could have been better without the incident.

While positioning his bike on the grid, Acosta had to dismount to push it into place. In the process, he dislodged one of the seat wings on his KTM RC16. That small damage had a significant impact on handling, especially in fast right-hand corners like Turns 2, 3, and 13.

"I was making many mistakes around the race," Acosta said. "I think I have a bit more potential, being honest. The bike was feeling quite good, but I made a mistake on the grid, lost my position, had to jump off and pull it back, and then I broke one wing. I was really struggling to turn in the fast right corners."

The missing wing also caused him to run wide at Turn 8, allowing Jorge Martin to pass. A fight followed, costing valuable time. Still, there were positives: Acosta set his fastest lap of the race on the final lap, a first in his MotoGP career.

"I'm quite happy because it's the first time in my MotoGP career that I make my fastest lap on the last lap. Finishing fourth after how tough it was yesterday is good," he concluded.
