Gigi Dall’Igna has expressed high praise for the exceptional performance delivered by Marc Marquez in overcoming a deeply challenging race weekend at the Mandalika circuit. The Bologna manufacturer acknowledged that the Indonesian venue was anticipated to be one of their most difficult hurdles in the ongoing championship fight, given layout characteristics that heavily favored their main rivals, Aprilia.
Despite facing major struggles regarding overall pace and machine behavior throughout the weekend, Marquez maximized the Desmosedici GP's potential through sheer skill and vast experience. The reigning champion capitalized on chaotic moments to secure a surprise Sprint race victory after key contenders stumbled, including early incidents and tyre-pressure issues that struck championship leader Jorge Martin.
When Sunday's main grand prix arrived, Aprilia delivered the anticipated dominance by locking out the top four positions. However, Marquez salvaged crucial points by grinding out a fighting sixth-place finish as the standout Ducati representative. This defensive salvage operation ensured that the championship deficit remained entirely unchanged at just two points heading into the next rounds.

In his official post-race review, Dall’Igna emphasized that escaping an unfavorable track without losing ground injected fresh energy into the squad. The ability to seize opportunities, grit their teeth, and extract the absolute maximum from a difficult package highlighted the maturity and resilience required in a fierce world championship battle.
With five rounds remaining in the 1000cc Michelin era before the championship concludes, the title fight shifts to Phillip Island with the points margin tighter than ever. Dall’Igna reiterated that every single race is now crucial as the battle for ultimate glory enters its decisive final stretch.
