George Russell has shared some joyful news during the Formula 1 summer shutdown. The Mercedes driver is officially engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Carmen Montero Mundt, after six years together.
The announcement came via an Instagram post featuring a romantic candlelit dinner by the sea. Russell and Montero Mundt were all smiles, with a simple caption of a ring and a white heart.
Fellow F1 drivers were quick to congratulate the couple, including his Mercedes teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Alex Albon, Oscar Piastri, and Alexandra, wife of Charles Leclerc.
Russell and Montero Mundt were first introduced by mutual friends in 2020. Since then, she has been a constant presence at Grand Prix weekends, supporting the Briton. Off the track, she works in finance and recently launched a skincare brand called Barriers.
For Russell, Montero Mundt’s support has been vital to his career. As he looks ahead to a challenging 2026 season, this happy news provides an extra boost for the British driver.
