The Fiorio Cup returns this weekend with a deeply emotional atmosphere for the organizing family as it enters its sixth edition. Officially renamed the Fiorio Cup – Alex Fiorio Trophy, this year's family-feel event pays heartfelt homage to the late Alex Fiorio, who passed away in August.
Alex was the primary driving force behind the unique competition, which pits talented drivers from Italy against fierce competitors from the rest of Europe. Set within the private grounds of the Fiorio family farm, the event showcases raw rally talent in identical machinery.
Although past individual winners such as Kalle Rovanpera, Andrea Crugnola, and Andrea Mabellini are absent from the start list, a brand-new victor is guaranteed. The battle lines are drawn between two distinct squads representing opposing sides of the continent.

Team Italy is proudly captained by Andrea Aghini, featuring a dynamic lineup that includes Italian champion and WRC2 event winner Roberto Dapra, 18-year-old rising star Giovanni Trentin, Matteo Bernini, and Tamara Molinaro.
Standing in their way is Team Europe, captained by veteran Henning Solberg alongside his stepson Pontus Tidemand, Elliott Delecour, and off-road regular Hedda Hosas. Every single competitor will pilot identical Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 machines supplied by PA Racing.
Mariapaola Fiorio, Alex’s eldest daughter, emphasized her strong determination to keep her father’s enduring legacy alive through this year's specialized gathering. She noted that her father had explicitly expressed his wish for the competition to continue.
"Dad had expressed his wish for the Fiorio Cup to continue," she said. "We are doing a great job as a team, thanks to the expertise of those who have stood alongside me, and this has made it possible to begin a new chapter for the Fiorio Cup and carry forward the spirit in which he imagined it: a competition born out of passion, which became a community and is now ready to continue in his name."
"Now it’s up to the young and promising Italian drivers to respond to the experience and skill of Team Europe’s competitors. It’s going to be great fun!" Mariapaola concluded, setting the stage for an unforgettable weekend of motorsport action.
