Lewis Hamilton has made his stance clear. Responding to Christian Horner's pointed jibe at Frederic Vasseur, the Ferrari driver instead defended his team principal with a firm statement. Hamilton highlighted the significant progress the team has made in 2026 and urged critics to direct their scrutiny higher up rather than at Vasseur.
Hamilton's remarks quickly solidified the Ferrari garage. Charles Leclerc followed with similar support, though behind the scenes differences of opinion persist between Vasseur and the drivers regarding the SF-26's technical issues. This shows that despite internal tensions, Ferrari's external front remains united.
On the other side, Christian Horner seemed to try to unsettle Ferrari with his sharp comments. However, instead of wavering, the Maranello squad displayed cohesion. Hamilton even suggested that those above Vasseur—namely John Elkann and Benedetto Vigna—should be the ones evaluated if one wants to find the root cause.

Beyond Hamilton and Leclerc, support for Vasseur also comes from within the team. The close personal relationship between Vasseur and Elkann is said to be a key reason why the French team principal's position remains secure. Nevertheless, on-track dynamics remain the ultimate test.
Meanwhile, Lance Stroll revealed the extent of the damage Aston Martin has suffered due to Honda's poor power unit performance. Stroll's complaint signals that the technical partnership with Honda has yet to yield the expected results, and this could impact their standings.
Off the track, Valtteri Bottas is dealing with issues away from racing. The Finnish driver is reportedly at odds with tax authorities, which could certainly disrupt his focus ahead of a series of important races.
Elsewhere, the first free practice sessions for F1 in Sepang and MotoGP at Motegi have begun. Both events serve as a proving ground for drivers and teams looking to capitalize on momentum. For Ferrari, the support for Vasseur is a crucial asset in facing pressure on track.
