Fernandez Dominates Crash-Strewn British GP

Raul Fernandez delivered a dominant display to win MotoGP’s British Grand Prix, leading an all-Aprilia podium he shared with Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi.

The Trackhouse rider made it past Martin at Turn 1 as the latter’s rear ride height hadn't disengaged, and from there cruised clear of the field. With a lead as high as four seconds at times, Fernandez went on to win by 2.5s from Martin.

Bezzecchi battled pain from his Sachsenring injuries to secure third in a hard-fought duel, fending off Alex Marquez - who was the best-finishing Ducati. As Martin’s device became stuck, Fernandez pounced, with a strong start from Bezzecchi propelling him into second as Martin fell to third.

Behind, a strong getaway from Marc Marquez promoted him to fourth, with Trackhouse rider Ai Ogura losing two places to run fifth. Soon after, as Alex Marquez took on Ogura, a bold move from Pedro Acosta got him past both on the Wellington straight.

Marc Marquez was just 0.6s behind Martin by lap three, while his brother made it back through on Acosta for fifth. The younger Marquez then made it through his brother at Maggotts, with Acosta following him through at Abbey on lap seven. By lap 9, the injured Bezzecchi was struggling, and Martin made it past into second at Turn 2 before Alex Marquez also passed him later in the lap.

But a moment for the Gresini rider at Turn 1 dropped him two places to fifth, promoting Bezzecchi back to third and Acosta to fourth. Marquez retook fourth from Acosta on lap 12 at Stowe, and closed in on Bezzecchi, but was not close enough come the chequered flag.

Fabio Di Giannantonio made a late charge to catch Acosta, but was unable to pass him and finished sixth ahead of Marc Marquez. Brad Binder, Luca Marini and Diogo Moreira rounded out the top 10.

Pecco Bagnaia’s difficult weekend ended with another crash, with the Ducati rider taking a strange fall at Luffield - the same place his 2025 outing here ended. Joan Mir and Alex Rins both crashed out on lap one, as the former fell before the latter went down while taking evasive action.

Enea Bastianini crashed out on lap six at Vale, with Iker Lecuona’s race also ending soon after. Cal Crutchlow crashed out at Turn 6 on lap seven, while Ogura, who was running fifth, slid into the gravel on lap 10.
