The 2026 season has brought massive shifts at the top of Formula 1. After 11 rounds, the team hierarchy looks very different from the same point last year. While McLaren dominated in 2025, it is now Mercedes leading the constructors' championship with 379 points.
Mercedes holds a comfortable gap over Ferrari in second with 307 points, while McLaren, which led with 417 points last year, has tumbled to third with 220 points. This is one of the most dramatic swings in recent F1 history.
McLaren principal Andrea Stella admitted his team is paying a heavy price for last year's title double. "We paid a heavy price," he said when asked about this season's performance. The new regulations have clearly reshuffled the order.
Alpine, meanwhile, has made a remarkable recovery, jumping from the bottom to sixth place. Williams has gone the other way, slipping from fifth to ninth. Aston Martin has also fallen hard, managing just a single point so far.
Red Bull remains a solid force in fourth with 177 points, though not as dominant as last year. Racing Bulls and Audi have shown progress, collecting 66 and 12 points respectively.
