Elfyn Evans was handed a €2,000 fine during WRC Greece 2026 after failing to press the mandatory OK button immediately following a tyre change on Special Stage 13.

Stewards penalised Evans and co-driver Scott Martin after they forgot to activate the OK button following the stop. While the procedure is normally the co-driver's responsibility, the stewards ruled that the driver also carries ultimate responsibility for ensuring the requirement is fulfilled. The pair must pay the fine within 48 hours.

Evans and Martin eventually pressed the OK button after rejoining the stage, but the one-minute and 17-second delay was considered sufficient to warrant the penalty. The mandatory system allows organisers to confirm that a stopped crew is safe and does not require the stage to be halted or emergency assistance to be dispatched.

The Acropolis Rally proved challenging for the Toyota Gazoo Racing crew. As the World Rally Championship leaders, Evans and Martin had to sweep the roads throughout Friday. They remained on course for fifth place until a puncture on SS13 on Saturday dropped them to seventh overall.

Another puncture followed on Sunday morning, although Evans and Martin chose to continue to the end of the opening stage without stopping to replace the tyre, bringing a difficult weekend in Greece to a close.
